Daniel Shaw - Principal Psychologist

Daniel is the founder and director of Shaw Psychology. He is a nationally registered psychologist who works with adults and adolescents in both individual and relationship counselling. Daniel strongly believes in practical treatments that focus on changing the behaviours that contribute to mental illness in the here-and-now. He aims to help clients to overcome their challenges and to take actions that are consistent with the person they want to be.
Daniel works with clients who are dealing with anxiety and depression, addiction, eating disorders, anger management problems, and trauma as well as issues related to marriage, relationship and family problems. Depending on the needs of each client, he will use a therapeutic approach that is scientifically evidenced to assist with their issue. Daniel is trained in Counselling Psychology and often uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), or, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in his work.
Daniel practices yoga and archery on a regular basis. He holds a strong affinity and interest in technology, particularly for games and other devices that hold the potential to cultivate imagination and improve our quality of life.
