Dr Daniel Shaw - Principal

Counselling Psychologist​

Daniel is a nationally registered counselling psychologist and director of Shaw Psychology. He works with adults, couples and adolescents to help with a range of psychological and relationship issues. Daniel is passionate about effective and practical treatments that improve mental health and resilience in the long-term.


Areas of Focus:

  • Anxiety disorders, including social anxiety, phobias, and panics

  • Depressive disorders, including major depression and dysthymia

  • Trauma-related disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder

  • Obsessive-Compulsive disorders

  • Feeding and Eating disorders

  • Addictive disorders, including pornography, gaming and drugs

  • Relationship conflict, intimacy, infidelity, or separation


Therapeutic approaches:

Daniel will develop a tailored treatment plan for each client, informed by evidence-based therapy models such as:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

More about Daniel:

When Daniel isn't in the office, he is usually bike riding, practising yoga, reading fantasy books and comics, playing RPG and action games, and, most importantly, spending quality time with his family and close friends.
