Junko Fukuhara
Counsellor

Junko is an ACA-registered Counsellor with a focus on relationship dynamics, cultural transition, eating disorders and support for victims of crime. Having lived and worked in both Japan and Australia, she brings a deep personal and professional understanding of the stress associated with immigration, acculturation, and navigating life in a new country.

Junko provides a compassionate, person-centred space for adults and couples to explore mood-related issues and grief. She has a particular interest in supporting individuals through the psychological impact of domestic abuse and complex financial scams. Junko is bilingual and offers counselling in both Japanese and English, ensuring that cultural nuances are respected and integrated into the therapeutic process

Junko focuses on engaging with her clients and, in consultation with our psychologists, she will develop a tailored treatment plan for each client, informed by evidence-based therapy models. She enjoys helping clients through the following models:

Junko is a proud mother of her son and has loved spending her time focusing on his growth and development. She enjoys hot pilates (HIIT), hot yoga, and enjoys walks along her local neighbourhood's creek. When she is at home, enjoys watching Japanese TV dramas and anime. Junko also loves shopping and catching up with her friends for dinner.
