Silvia Violante

Counselling Psychologist

Silvia is a nationally registered counselling psychologist. She works with adults and couples in her clinical practice. Silvia also has extensive experience in running psychological support and therapy groups. Silvia is fluent in both English and Spanish. Silvia uses a collaborative approach with clients and tailors individual treatment plans. She strives to provide her clients with effective tools and strategies to address their current challenges and achieve their goals. Silvia strongly believes in utilising your personal strengths in order to achieve mental health.

Areas of Focus:

  • Depressive disorders, including major depression

  • Anxiety disorders, including generalised anxiety and panic

  • Addictive disorders, including alcohol and substance misuse

  • Eating and Feeding disorders, including obesity and stigma

  • Self-esteem and identity difficulties

  • Emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills

  • Relationship conflict, intimacy, infidelity, or separation


Therapeutic approaches:

Silvia will develop a tailored treatment plan for each client, informed by evidence-based therapy models such as:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Positive Psychology

Silvia believes strongly in regular exercise and meditation for mental health and commits to these activities herself. She also enjoys spending time listening to music and seeking new places to explore in her travels.
